With assets valued at over $4 billion, Meridian takes asset management seriously. Meridian Energy is New Zealand’s largest electricity generator, providing approximately 30 per cent of the
country’s total generation.
Meridian’s Generation Improvement Team began planning a system that would provide early warning of deterioration of critical equipment, perform basic analysis to turn data into information, and
provide predictive capability. Key to the implementation of such a system was integration with Meridian’s existing Computerised Maintenance Management System (Maximo) and the existing plant historian.
Meridian undertook an exhaustive tender process and selected Matrikon to deliver an integrated equipment condition monitoring solution.
