Application of Advanced Process Control to Copper Smelting
|
This paper is concerned with the application of Advanced Process Control (APC) to copper smelting processes. A number of key issues relating to the application of APC, such as modeling for control, process dynamics and time delays, instrumentation and sampling, are discussed. A general methodology for the application of APC is then presented. Finally, three case studies are presented to demonstrate the benefits and efficacy of applying APC.
