Question: I’d like to connect to multiple Modbus devices over 56k dial up modem, GPRS, and a few radios. Most of the OPC Modbus servers I’ve found do not support this type of communication. Now what?
|
- Befuddled in Arkansas
Answer (Sean Leonard, VP MatrikonOPC):
Most Modbus OPC servers assume good quality connections to their devices. Once you introduce high latency, low reliability methods of communication, things get a bit dicey. The MatrikonOPC Server for Telemetry SCADA Modbus was built to excel in spite of these communication challenges.
