Propals inability to accurately determine costs and to improve product quality was due to a lack of process data. In order to maintain competitiveness, Propal had two integration objectives: to present data to various sources; and secondly, to maintain a high level of network security. Propal integrated OPC technology to address and resolve both issues. |
As a result, Propal improved their overall performance by reducing costs, increasing efficiency and taking advantage of the data in their corporate environment. Effective planning, scheduling, inventory management and accurately determining operating costs have made staying competitive in the challenging paper industry a reality. |

Matrix Technologies Inc. was contracted to upgrade two Supervisory Control Systems. The systems, which had been running processes for decades, were unable to support the data-intensive programs that were needed to meet strict environmental emissions reporting requirements. |
The systems didn't have the bandwidth required to meet data-collection requirements, they couldn't support 2-way communications and they lacked the capacity for scalability. |
