Advanced Condition Monitoring in
Upstream Production

As engineers adapt to the changes in their roles brought on by demographic and technology shifts, the advent of continuous monitoring systems will finally empower technical people to spend their time doing technical analysis, not collecting and fighting with data.

In upstream production, advanced condition monitoring is now being applied to wells, equipment, transportation and distribution with significant benefits in increased production and reduced costs. Read this whitepaper and discover the disciplined methodology that will yield remarkable, long-term benefits for upstream facilities.

Databases are consistently being used as the gateway to interface with information. Almost everything that we do with a computer or process has databases somewhere in the process. With the industry acceptance of OPC to standardize the way that plant floor devices share data with software applications such as HMIs, Process historians and trenders.

Read more about how OPC utilizes standards based connectivity to easily keep pace with any database.

Alarm MOCCA’s Operator Assist

Matrikon's tool for Alarm Rationalization assistance and automated Distributive Control System (DCS) Management of Change (MOC) makes it easy to access alarm documentation for decision support in real-time. The help pane provides context sensitive assistance by filtering out parameters not relevant to the active alarm. The assistance can be accessed out-of-the-box from ProcessGuard’s Real-Time Viewer or from DCS graphics. Operator Assist is served from Matrikon’s ProcessNet Server, which allows customers to choose whether users can write to the Alarm MOCCA database, or just access information. This allows the tool to be used as a knowledge-capture mechanism to help facilities manage personnel attrition.
