AMSS201 - Strategic Dynamic Alarm Management
Learn to prevent plant disruptions and shutdowns through dynamic alarm management.
This course teaches you about the tools needed to keep a watchful eye on a plant’s
entire process without having to monitor hundreds or even thousands of individual
process variables.
The Strategic Dynamic Alarm Management course provides participants with a highly
advanced understanding of total plant alarm management. Learn how alarm systems
can be configured to automatically account for different plant states. The result
is less process variance, higher production and reduced operator stress.
Upon completion of the Strategic Dynamic Alarm Management Workshop,
participants will have acquired knowledge related to:
-
Identify abnormal operating conditions: learn to
catch problems in their early stages and determine root cause.
-
Numerical Analysis and Modeling: Understand the
tools available and how to use them.
-
Principal Component Analysis (PCA): Used to analyze
multivariate process data.
-
Program Calculations: Create analysis algorithms
using “COM” compliant programming languages.
-
Troubleshooting: Learn to troubleshoot disturbance
and control loop interaction problems using cross-correlation,
cross-spectrum, and coherency statistics.
-
Six SIGMA: Use SIGMA to measure and identify
abnormal situations.
- Control and Application Engineers
- Integrators
- Managers
- Operations Managers
- Plant Floor Operators
- Plant Managers
- Product Managers
- Project Managers
- Team Engineers
- Technicians
- Unit Superintendents
Strategic Dynamic Alarm Management is held within a computer lab where each participant
is given dedicated use of a computer for the duration of the course. The course is
comprised of presentations, examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
Participants are encouraged to discuss current alarm and event issues they face.
Strategic Dynamic Alarm Management (AMSS201) is a very detailed and specific course.
In order for participants to benefit fully, the course is tailored towards their
control system, plant assets and specific industry. If you are interested in more
