This interactive workshop uses a combination of instructor presentation,
industrial case studies, and hands-on exercises. Learn how to build a CBM
business case for your own facility, select the appropriate assets to
monitor, and deploy such a strategy. All participants are actively
encouraged to discuss their current asset management, maintenance/reliability
and CBM challenges they face. The course is divided into modules each with
an exercise or discussion component. Each module builds on the previous one
so that learning is done in an organized and structured format.
The event will take place in a computer lab where each participant is given
dedicated use of a computer for the duration of the course. The course is
comprised of presentations, examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
Participants are encouraged to discuss current CBM issues they face.
The course is divided into connected modules so that learning is done in an
organized and structured format.
Module 1: Maintenance Strategy - This module reviews modern-day
maintenance challenges faced by today’s companies to produce more with less.
Discussion takes place with reference to contemporary maintenance approaches and
methodologies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Total Productive
Maintenance (TPM) and Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
Upon completion of this module, you will understand which maintenance tactics
are appropriate for each situation.
Module 2: CBM Theory - This module reviews the definition of CBM,
its relation to other maintenance areas, and appropriate cases in which to deploy
of CBM.
Module 3: CBM Technology - Learn about the different types of
Condition-Based Maintenance technologies, such as offline vs. online, mobile vs.
fixed, data requirements, algorithms, required equipment data, etc.
Module 4: Business Case - Acquire tools that will guide you through
writing a business case for a Condition-Based Maintenance project with an ROI focus.
Upon completing this module you will know how to create an effective business case.
Module 5: Online, Real-time CBM - Learn how to conduct predictive
maintenance using your real-time asset condition data. The module reviews integration
of real-time data with the CMMS, industry open standards such as OPC and MIMOSA, how
to develop and monitor equipment health indexes and how to automate the data capture
from existing traditional CBM systems, such as vibration, oil analysis, etc.
Module 6: Implementing CBM - Study the different stages in a
Condition-Based Maintenance project and learn how to prioritize them to gain maximum
effectiveness from your effort.
